Because the English government had a huge regime racist and corrupt with the people of india and for reasons that were senseless laws, Gandhi saw this and not reached agreement and therefore acted in this way in order to gain their country free and fair.

Gandhi was the leader of the independence of India, he was the one that started the non-violence policy, because he wanted the brittish people to respect the Indian people rights and to let them rule their own country. Many men Muslim or Hindu followed him, but he was the leader and he didn't let the indians use violence because he believed that no cause was good enough to kill a person. After a long time brittish people saw he was determined and gave him respect, finally India got it's independence, thanks to Gandhi.

Gandhi was the most important getting the freedom of india because they resist the blows of the British plice and they make see others as may become free and as the British were exploiting and taking them us slaves and so they began to listen to Gandhi and believe in, and the britishh the unic solution that they use against
gandhiwas that they arrested him like 7 or 8 times because of the salt, the tikets that thebritish gave them they burn them, and others.
